Fourteen years after it first carved a distinct space in Indian television news, ‘Chakravyuh’ is making a comeback, reimagined for a media landscape that increasingly values depth, clarity, and unfiltered conversations. The show returns with its original promise intact—delivering uninterrupted, unfiltered, and unapologetic discussions for a new India.
As per a press release, the format stays rooted in continuity, offering an entire hour of conversation without commercial interruptions or editorial reshaping. The discussion unfolds in real time, retaining its natural pace, energy, and authenticity—allowing viewers to engage with the exchange in its purest form.
The design of ‘Chakravyuh’ reflects this intent. Built around a custom round table, the format places the newsmaker at the centre on a ‘Hot Seat’, while four anchors from NDTV India are positioned at the four cardinal points. This creates a 360-degree dialogue, ensuring that multiple perspectives converge simultaneously, without dilution or distortion.
Shot using ten cameras, every moment is captured as it happens—without edits or breaks that might otherwise soften the intensity of the exchange. The absence of cuts ensures that the conversation remains raw and direct, preserving its original tone and meaning throughout.
What distinguishes ‘Chakravyuh’ is its ability to sustain examination of a subject. Instead of fragmented soundbites, the format allows responses to be revisited, perspectives to intersect, and arguments to evolve—ultimately offering viewers a more comprehensive understanding of the issue at hand.
Commenting on the return, Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of NDTV, said the format aims to create a space where conversations are not interrupted and multiple editorial viewpoints come together at once. He noted that while the format is demanding, it enables a more complete understanding of what is being discussed.
Echoing a similar sentiment, Rohit Vishwakarma, Managing Editor at NDTV India, said the idea was to ensure that conversations do not lose their continuity. By removing interruptions and bringing diverse perspectives into a single exchange, the format delivers greater clarity on complex issues.
With four anchors, one newsmaker, and a full uninterrupted hour, ‘Chakravyuh’ redefines how televised conversations are approached—giving both questions and answers the space to develop within the broader narrative.
The show premiered on March 27, 2026, at 8pm on NDTV India, marking the return of a format that once stood out for its depth—and now aims to do so again in a rapidly evolving news environment.
