Shareholders of New Delhi Television Ltd. (NDTV) have approved the reappointment of veteran journalist and media professional Senthil Chengalvarayan as a director on the company’s Board.
The resolution was passed during NDTV’s 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on June 26, 2026. According to the company, the ordinary resolution received an overwhelming 99.95 percent of the total votes cast, reaffirming shareholder confidence in Chengalvarayan’s leadership and industry expertise.
Chengalvarayan will continue to serve as a director liable to retire by rotation in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act and the company’s governance framework.
A respected figure in Indian media, Chengalvarayan brings more than 35 years of experience in business journalism, broadcasting and media leadership. Over the course of his career, he has been associated with several leading media organizations and is widely recognized for his contributions to business news and financial journalism in India.
The reappointment comes at a significant time for NDTV as the broadcaster pursues an ambitious transformation strategy focused on digital growth, artificial intelligence, hyperlocal journalism and expansion into new content and business verticals.
At the AGM, Rahul Kanwal outlined the company’s roadmap for the coming years, emphasizing investments in digital platforms, AI-driven newsroom capabilities, Connected TV, and “news-plus” initiatives aimed at expanding the NDTV brand beyond traditional broadcasting.
NDTV recently reported annual revenue of Rs 528.29 crore, registering growth of 13.6 percent over the previous year, while also strengthening its balance sheet through a successful rights issue.
The continued presence of Chengalvarayan on the board is expected to support NDTV’s next phase of growth as the company seeks to strengthen its position across television, digital and emerging media platforms.
