Penguin Random House India and Kuku FM have rolled out 12 Hindi audiobooks as part of their exclusive partnership, marking a significant step in expanding regional-language storytelling in the country. The titles are now live on the Kuku FM platform, spanning genres such as mythology, memoir, business, self-help and science.
According to a Pocket FM press release, the launch follows last year’s announcement of a 15-title collaboration between the two companies. With this rollout, a majority of the curated catalogue has been made available to listeners, with the remaining titles expected to go live in the coming months.
The newly released audiobooks include a mix of widely read and culturally relevant works such as ‘Ram ki Gatha’ by Devdutt Pattanaik, ‘Manoj Bajpayee’ by Piyush Pandey, ‘Tata Stories’ by Harish Bhat, and ‘Make Epic Money’ by Ankur Warikoo, among others. These titles have been selected to appeal to a broad audience base, reflecting diverse interests and reading preferences.
This launch also marks Penguin Random House India’s first foray into professionally produced Hindi-language audiobooks. The move is aligned with the growing popularity of audiobooks, particularly in regional languages, as more consumers shift towards audio-first content formats. The collaboration aims to make premium storytelling more accessible to a wider audience across India.
Vidhi Nangia, Lead – Audiobook Division at Penguin Random House India, said the titles were carefully chosen for their enduring relevance and wide appeal. She added that bringing these stories to life in Hindi audio format represents a natural progression in response to changing consumption habits and offers an opportunity to engage new listeners.
Echoing this sentiment, Ankit Saraswat, Vice President – Business at Kuku FM, said the partnership strengthens the platform’s position as a destination for premium intellectual properties. He noted that the collaboration supports Kuku FM’s broader mission to deliver high-quality audiobooks to India’s rapidly growing regional-language audience at scale.
The partnership underlines a shared focus on tapping into India’s expanding digital audio market, with both companies aiming to bridge the gap between traditional publishing and modern content consumption.
