JioStar is set to premiere its new kids and family show ‘Jungle Tales with Mowgli’ on JioHotstar and Disney Channel on September 12, the show will premiere at 2 pm.

According to a JioStar press release from Mumbai today,‘Jungle Tales with Mowgli’ is a comedy-based take on the iconic Mowgli story from ‘The Jungle Book’. The show follows 10 year old Mowgli, who is curious, mischievous and often gets into trouble during his adventures in the jungle.

The show will feature familiar characters including Baloo, Bagheera, Sherkhan, Kaa and Tabaqui. It will use situational comedy, slapstick chases and playful conversations to tell Mowgli’s jungle adventures. The show aims to bring a familiar story to parents while introducing it to a new generation of children.

Alok Jain, Head – Hindi & English Entertainment Business (Streaming, TV & Studios), JioStar, said that Mowgli is an evergreen character who connects with more than one generation. He said the new show reimagines the timeless world of ‘The Jungle Book’ with the energy, humour and sensibility of today’s children and families. Jain also said that the story has universal appeal and is expected to connect with children and families across the country.

JioStar will also run a large-scale campaign for the show across its television network and JioHotstar. The campaign will include digital platforms, social media communities, creators, malls and other family-focused locations. The character will also feature as part of Anime India.

‘Jungle Tales with Mowgli’ marks JioStar Kids & Family portfolio’s 16th local IP. The company has earlier launched local titles such as ‘Motu Patlu’, ‘Chikoo Aur Bunty’ and ‘Bittu Bahenebaaz’. Nivea and Tedibar have joined the show as Co-powered By sponsors.
