Rajat Sharma, Chairman of India TV, has been elected as the President of the News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA).
The decision was unanimously made during a board meeting held today, marking Sharma’s ascent to lead the largest organization representing news broadcasters and digital media in the country.
Addressing the media after his election, Rajat Sharma acknowledged the formidable challenges facing the news industry today. He emphasized the critical role of NBDA in advocating for the interests of journalism amid increasing pressures and ensuring an environment conducive to free and fair news reporting. NBDA, comprising nearly all major news networks in India, plays a crucial role in setting industry standards and addressing collective concerns of its members.
