The Haryana Steelers’ rise from Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) finalists to champions takes centre stage in ‘Faulad: The Champions Story’, the latest installment in JSW Sports’ documentary series. Streaming on JioHotstar from August 31, the film captures the team’s dramatic turnaround just as the Steelers prepare to defend their crown in the upcoming season.
The documentary follows the aftermath of the Season 10 heartbreak and the gruelling preseason camps at the Inspire Institute of Sport, where the squad was rebuilt for a title push. It also chronicles the Steelers’ commanding run through Season 11 to 16 wins in 22 league games, 84 points in the table and a memorable final victory over the Patna Pirates.
For fans, ‘Faulad’ offers rare access to the team’s inner world: unseen locker-room reactions after the 2023 final defeat, the intensity of closed training sessions, and the leadership of Head Coach Manpreet Singh, who secured redemption with his first Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) trophy after multiple near misses.
A standout narrative is the arrival of Iranian defender Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, whose presence redefined the Steelers’ defensive resilience and championship mindset.
Divyanshu Singh, CEO of Haryana Steelers and JSW Sports, said the film captures “the moment when the Steelers finally turned years of hard work and heartbreak into history.”
For the Steelers, the film doubles as a rallying cry ahead of Season 12, blending history, emotion and ambition into a story that celebrates both a team and a sport deeply rooted in Haryana’s cultural fabric.
