In a landmark judgment, the Delhi High Court has completely quashed the 2018 CBI FIR against Upendrra Rai, CMD and Editor-in-Chief of Bharat Express, bringing to an end years of baseless allegations.
According to a press note by Bharat Express, the judge found no prima facie offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the Court ruled in favour of Upendrra Rai and set aside all proceedings linked to the FIR.
Justice Neena Bansal Krishna categorically observed that no public servant was involved and the case was purely a private contractual dispute, not a corruption matter.
The Court also acknowledged the settlement and No Objection Affidavit filed by the complainant company, which confirmed that it did not wish to pursue the case any further.
With the Court finding no prima facie offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act, all proceedings have been set aside, marking a resounding vindication for Upendrra Rai.
This judgment reinforces Rai’s long-standing position that the case was motivated and unfounded, and stands as a testament to his faith in the judicial process.
