Coke Studio is set to return to India with ‘Coke Studio Bharat’, giving music fans a reason to celebrate. The new season will feature over 50 artists from across the country and its hinterlands collaborating to create over ten memorable tracks celebrating India’s roots.
The platform will host music that pays homage to the various parts of India that artists call home, connecting with stories that are rich in history, diverse languages, and magical melodies set to enthrall, IANS reported from Mumbai.
According to Arnab Roy, Vice President of Marketing for Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, “Coke Studio, a globally recognized platform, has always sought to highlight authentic regional music. Musical traditions from various regions of India are at a crossroads, not only in India but also globally. ‘Coke Studio Bharat’ joins the truly distinct cultural dots of the country’s various regions with artists whose music is defined by their roots. They are the season’s true stars, giving regional music a boost.”
Ankur Tewari, an acclaimed, award-winning musician, and sought-after songwriter has curated this season of ‘Coke Studio’. To breathe life into ‘Apna Sunao’, Ankur has assembled a team that includes acclaimed poet, lyricist, and scriptwriter Kausar Munir, as well as music producer K.J. Singh. They have handpicked regional treasures to give their sound a new voice.
Famous artists and musicians in the current season include Amira Gill, Achint, Aditya Gadhvi, Arijit Datta, Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, Ashima Mahajan, Armaan Malik, Bombay Brass, Burrah, Charan Raj, Deveshi Sahgal, Dhruv Vishwanath, Diljit Dosanjh, Donn Bhatt, Hashbass, Jasleen Royal, The season will also feature regional Indian instruments such as the Algozha, Chimta, Duff, Sarod, Sarangi, Tumbi, and Rabaab.
Coca-Cola has collaborated as executive producer with Universal Music India for the inaugural season of ‘Coke Studio Bharat’. The season’s first song will be released on February 7, 2023.
