Marvel fans have reason to celebrate this May as Disney has officially announced that ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ from May 28.
The latest chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) brings Sam Wilson’s journey as the new Captain America to the digital screen, following its successful theatrical release earlier this year.
According to an ANI report, the film earned global acclaim and box office success, grossing over USD 415 million worldwide. Directed by Julius Onah, the movie continues the storyline established in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, with Anthony Mackie returning to reprise his role as Sam Wilson — now bearing the iconic shield once held by Steve Rogers.
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ introduces audiences to a high-stakes political thriller as Sam Wilson meets the newly elected US President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford. However, what begins as a formal meeting quickly spirals into an international crisis. Sam finds himself racing against time to stop a shadowy threat before global catastrophe unfolds.
The star-studded cast includes Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson. Produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, the film also features Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth as executive producers.
Following its February theatrical debut, the film drew praise for its blend of action, political intrigue, and emotional stakes. As part of Marvel’s Phase 5, the film sets the stage for future MCU entries, with ‘Thunderbolts’ being the next in line. According to ANI, Thunderbolts has already earned more than USD 273 million globally and continues its run in cinemas.
Marvel Studios has also lined up ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, which is set to hit theatres on July 25, 2025, continuing the studio’s momentum in delivering expansive and interconnected superhero narratives.
