‘Bigg Boss’ S20 on JioHotstar recorded 42.35 million in its opening seven days (Sept. 6-12), putting the reality show well ahead of any other reality title measured by Chrome DM COTT through August, according to data shared by Chrome DM.
The twentieth season of the franchise has also registered a strongly concentrated and young audience profile, with the 18 to 35 age bracket alone accounting for 80 percent of the total reach.
The two leading audience cohorts are both female (18-24 years and 25-35 years), recording 9.96 million and 9.52 million, respectively, a dataset released by Chrome DM COTT said.2
The audience composition is particularly notable for a franchise entering its twentieth season, with the data pointing to a significant concentration among younger viewers rather than a broad-based age profile.

Mobile devices accounted for 54 percent of consumption during the opening seven days, while cross-device overlap stood at 22 percent.
The consumption pattern suggests that viewers are following the season across screens, indicating engagement that extends beyond a single-device or one-time viewing experience.
“‘Bigg Boss’ S20 recording 42.35 million over its opening seven days puts it well ahead of any reality title we measured through August,” Chrome DM founder and CEO Pankaj Krishna said.
“What stands out is how tightly the audience clusters. The 18 to 35 bracket alone carries 80 percent of total reach, and the two leading cohorts are both female, at 9.96 million and 9.52 million,” he added.

Krishna said the audience profile was notable given that the show has entered its twentieth season, describing it as “a notably young and concentrated profile”.
The data also highlights the role of mobile viewing in the show’s opening-week consumption.
With mobile accounting for 54 percent of consumption and cross-device overlap at 22 percent, the viewing pattern suggests that audiences are settling into the season across screens rather than simply sampling it once and moving on.
The Chrome DM data, therefore, points to three defining characteristics of ‘Bigg Boss’ S20‘sopening seven days: a 42.35 million reach that leads the reality titles measured through August, a strong concentration of 80 percent of total reach among viewers aged 18 to 35, and a consumption pattern led by mobile, with 54 percent of viewing taking place on mobile devices.
