Hollywood actress Allison Janney is set to grace the screen once again, as she joins the ensemble cast of ‘A Simple Favor 2,’ the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 black comedy.
Returning for the sequel are actors Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, along with director Paul Feig. The film, slated to start filming this spring, is expected to premiere exclusively on the streaming platform Prime Video.
Joining Janney, Kendrick, and Lively are a stellar lineup of talents including Elena Sofia Ricci, Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, Alex Newell, Taylor Ortega, and Lorenzo de Moor, according to reports from entertainment outlet Variety.
In this next installment, Stephanie and Emily venture to the picturesque island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s lavish wedding to a wealthy Italian magnate. However, amidst the glitz and glamour, dark secrets and unexpected twists await, promising audiences a thrilling ride.
The sequel sees the return of familiar faces including Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, and Kelly McCormack, reprising their roles from the original film.
With Jessica Sharzer returning to pen the script, alongside contributions from Feig and Laeta Kalogridis, ‘A Simple Favor 2’ is being produced by Feigco Entertainment, with Feig and Laura Fischer at the helm as producers, and Sharzer as executive producer.
This highly-anticipated project is a collaborative effort between Amazon MGM Studios and Lionsgate, promising fans another gripping cinematic experience. Janney, renowned for her Oscar-winning performance in “I, Tonya,” continues to captivate audiences with her diverse roles, with her upcoming appearances including season two of Netflix’s “The Diplomat.”
