After playing a significant role in expanding Times Network’s digital business and intellectual property (IP) ecosystem, media and digital business leader Afzal Khan is embarking on a new professional journey, marking the end of an impactful chapter in his career.
Known for his expertise in digital transformation, content-led businesses and revenue innovation, Khan has built a career across several prominent media and digital platforms. Over the years, he has been associated with brands including ZigWheels, Speaking Tree, Columbia Audience Network, GQ India, Vogue India and Housefull International. These experiences enabled him to develop a strong understanding of digital audiences, content monetisation and the evolving relationship between brands and consumers.
The knowledge gained across these diverse platforms proved valuable during his tenure at Times Network, where he became one of the key contributors to the company’s digital revenue growth during a period of transformation and expansion. Through multiple leadership roles, Khan focused on strengthening partnerships, creating innovative monetisation models and identifying new business opportunities aligned with the rapidly changing digital landscape.
His most notable contribution came in his role as Head – Digital IP & Government Business. Entrusted with building and scaling the Digital IP business, Khan transformed what began as a growth initiative into a significant revenue-generating vertical for the network.
During his tenure, he conceptualised, developed and expanded more than 50 digital intellectual properties across national, regional and city-level markets. These initiatives helped Times Network strengthen its presence in the brand experience space by creating platforms that blended content, consumer engagement, digital innovation and meaningful brand interactions.
The portfolio ranged from large-scale national properties to regional and sector-specific initiatives, enabling the network to offer customised solutions for brands across multiple industries. The expansion of these digital properties also enhanced the organisation’s ability to create deeper engagement opportunities while delivering value to advertisers and partners.
Beyond digital IPs, Khan also played an important role in the Government Business vertical, where he focused on developing strategic relationships and delivering integrated digital-first solutions for institutional stakeholders.
Industry observers often describe Khan as a professional with a strong ability to identify emerging opportunities and transform ideas into scalable business platforms. His career reflects the evolution of modern digital media, where content, technology, audience engagement and commerce increasingly intersect.
As he prepares for the next phase of his professional journey, attention is naturally turning towards his future plans.
