The ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 is set to begin on November 29 in the United Arab Emirates, promising a spectacular showcase of emerging cricketing talent from across Asia. Organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the tournament will be held in Dubai and Sharjah, featuring eight nations vying for the coveted title.
India, the most successful team in the history of the Under-19 Asia Cup with eight titles in ten editions, leads the competition’s legacy. Their arch-rivals, Pakistan, have also had notable successes, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash between the two cricketing powerhouses.
This highly anticipated face-off will take place on November 30, 2024, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Fans can catch the action live from 10.30 am on Sony Sports Ten 5 SD & HD and Sony Sports Ten 3 SD & HD (Hindi).
India’s squad features a mix of exceptional young talent, led by middle-order batter Mohammed Amaan from Uttar Pradesh. Among the standout players is 13-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently made headlines as the youngest player selected by a franchise in India’s premier T20 league. Joining him is Ayush Mhatre, a 17-year-old batting prodigy from Mumbai, whose performances in the domestic circuit have been nothing short of stellar.
Tamil Nadu’s C. Andre Siddarth, Kerala’s leg-spinner Mohammed Enaan, and Karnataka’s batting duo Hardik Raj and Samarth Nagaraj round out the lineup of rising stars, promising a formidable Indian squad in this year’s competition.
Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution and International Business and Head – Sports Business at Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), expressed enthusiasm for broadcasting the tournament for the first time.
“The ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 will be the inaugural ACC event to be broadcast on Sony Sports Network. We are excited to showcase young talent from across Asia, especially the promising Team India,” he said.
Defending champions Bangladesh will aim to retain their title after a dominant win over the UAE in the 2023 final. Their rivalry with Sri Lanka has intensified in recent years, making their matchups another highlight of the tournament. Afghanistan, Nepal, Japan, and the UAE complete the list of participating teams, each bringing their own strengths and emerging talents to the competition.
