Network18 has appointed veteran journalist Braj Mohan Singh as the Editor of News18 Punjab, Haryana & Himachal, marking a significant return to the region where he began his mainstream journalism career over two decades ago. Singh announced the development through a LinkedIn post, describing the assignment as a return to his original ‘karma kshetra’ or field of action.
Before taking charge of the three-State cluster, Singh was leading News18 Bihar/Jharkhand as editorial head for the past five years, where he oversaw newsroom operations, reporting strategy, and editorial direction. His move back to the northern region comes with extensive experience across television, print, and digital journalism.
Over the years, Singh has built a strong reputation in regional and national media circles through leadership roles across several prominent organisations. Prior to his stint at News18 Bihar/Jharkhand, he served as Regional Editor at ETV Bharat for more than two years. In print media, he worked as Resident Editor for Dainik Bhaskar’s Chandigarh edition for nearly four years and was also the founding editor of Patrika TV under the Rajasthan Patrika Group.
Singh’s television journalism journey includes a notable eight-year tenure at NDTV between 2002 and 2010, where he rose to become Bureau Chief for North India. He later handled international newsroom responsibilities and specialised reporting operations for PTC News across India, the United States, and Canada.
