After receiving a warm response during its theatrical run, Marathi comedy-drama ‘Super Duperr’ got its digital premiere on ZEE5 Global yesterday. Directed by Sameer Asha Patil, the film started streaming on Marathi ZEE5 from May 29.
Produced by Vijay Shinde and Naresh Borde under the banners of 99 Productions and Siddhivinayak Productions in association with Zee Studios, ‘Super Duperr’ features an ensemble cast including Lalit Prabhakar, Vidula Chougule, Nirmiti Sawant, Hrishikesh Joshi, Shashank Shende, Kushal Badrike, and Namrata Sambherao.
Set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s housing struggles, the film follows Rohit and his girlfriend Isha, two young professionals trying to build their dream life in the city. However, their excitement turns into chaos after discovering that the apartment they purchased has also been sold to another family — the traditional Jadhav family from a village. A court order then forces both families to live together under the same roof until the legal matter is resolved, leading to a series of hilarious misunderstandings, emotional moments, and heartwarming family dynamics.
The film explores the clash between urban aspirations and traditional values while highlighting themes of coexistence, adjustment, and emotional bonding. Through its slice-of-life storytelling and relatable situations, ‘Super Duperr’ blends humour with strong emotional appeal, making it a complete family entertainer.
Speaking about the digital release, Hema V.R., Chief Channel Officer – Zee Marathi and Business Head – Marathi ZEE5, said the platform has been focused on curating a strong lineup of Marathi content this year. She added that following the success of titles like ‘Krantijyoti Vidyalay Marathi Madhyam’, ‘Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhantay Sasubai?’, and ‘Tighee’, the team is excited to bring another entertaining and rooted story to audiences through ‘Super Duperr’.
Director Patil described the film as a story about people learning to coexist despite their differences. According to him, while the premise is packed with humour and chaos, the emotions remain deeply relatable because every family carries its own beliefs, habits, and insecurities.
