‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is set to make its streaming debut on Disney+ on June 24, giving audiences another opportunity to revisit James Cameron’s visually expansive world of Pandora after the film’s successful theatrical run.
According to an ANI report citing international media reports, the third instalment in the blockbuster Avatar franchise will follow Jake Sully and his family as they confront a dangerous new Na’vi tribe. Directed by James Cameron, the film continues the epic sci-fi saga that has become one of Hollywood’s biggest cinematic franchises.
The movie features returning cast members including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet. New additions to the franchise include Oona Chaplin and David Thewlis.
The film had released in theatres in December 2025 and went on to emerge as one of the biggest global box-office successes of the year, reportedly collecting over $1.4 billion worldwide. The success further strengthened the Avatar franchise’s standing as one of the highest-grossing film series in cinema history.
Set several years after the events of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, the latest chapter explores fresh conflicts in Pandora while expanding the mythology of the Na’vi world. Reports also suggest that Cameron is already developing future instalments in the franchise, with the fourth and fifth ‘Avatar films’ currently planned for release later this decade.
