Brian Cox is set to join the second season of ‘Dexter: Resurrection’, stepping into the role of Dom Framt, also known as the chilling New York Ripper, adding a new layer of intrigue to the upcoming season.
According to an ANI report, the character was introduced in the first season but remained off-screen. Described as a notorious serial killer who once terrorised New York City, Framt is no longer actively committing murders but continues to haunt survivors by keeping his legacy alive in unsettling ways. His storyline is expected to play a significant role in shaping the narrative of Season 2.
The groundwork for his entry was laid earlier when Dexter, played by Michael C. Hall, along with Detective Claudette Wallace, portrayed by Kadia Saraf, discovered a file on Framt in the vault of Leon Prater, played by Peter Dinklage. The reveal hinted at a larger arc for the character, now set to unfold in the new season.
Cox is no stranger to portraying complex and intense roles. He previously played the iconic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in the 1986 film ‘Manhunter’. On television, he is widely recognised for his award-winning performance as Logan Roy in Succession, which earned him a Golden Globe in 2020 along with multiple Emmy nominations.
His filmography also includes notable appearances in major productions such as the Jason Bourne series alongside Matt Damon, as well as ‘X2’, ‘Troy’, and ‘Coriolanus’, showcasing his range across genres.
‘Dexter: Resurrection’ has been developed by Clyde Phillips, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series continues to build on the legacy of the original ‘Dexter’, with Michael C. Hall returning in the lead while also serving as an executive producer. The show is backed by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.
