Basilic Fly Studio, one of India’s leading visual effects (VFX) companies, has posted a sharp rise in profitability for the September quarter, with its net profit more than doubling to Rs.15 crore, driven by higher volumes and new project wins. The company’s income rose 65 per cent to Rs.95 crore during the quarter, while EBITDA surged 107 per cent to Rs.21 crore, underscoring strong operational performance.
According to a report in The Hindu, the company said its growth was supported by a robust project pipeline, new global mandates, and successful technology integration under its expansion roadmap.
Basilic Fly Studio recently raised Rs. 85 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to fund the next phase of its growth, focusing on AI-led advancements, technology investments, and organic expansion.
To further strengthen its leadership and delivery capabilities, the Chennai-based studio has appointed four senior executives in business development and five in operations. It has also begun operations at its new Bengaluru branch ahead of schedule. The company reported a cash surplus of Rs. 48 crore as of the September quarter-end, reflecting a healthy financial position.
