ZEE5 has announced the elevation of Lloyd C. Xavier to the dual leadership role of Business Head – Tamil & Malayalam and Senior Vice President – South Marketing, marking a significant expansion of his responsibilities within the streaming platform.
Xavier previously served as South Marketing Head and has been instrumental in shaping the brand’s strong regional footprint across southern India.
The development was confirmed by Xavier himself through a post on LinkedIn, where he shared, “New Role. New Challenges. Same Fire.” He expressed gratitude to his team and the company leadership for their continued trust, while reflecting on his ZEE5 journey so far. Since joining the company in September 2021, Xavier has led the marketing of over 100 titles across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages — a portfolio that underscores his deep understanding of regional audiences and content dynamics.
His campaigns have included several blockbuster releases, such as ‘RRR’, ‘HanuMan’, and ‘Vikkatakavi’ in Telugu; ‘Vikrant Rona’, ‘Max’, and ‘Ayyana Maane’ in Kannada; ‘Ayali’, ‘Koose Munisamy Veerappan’, ‘Aayindham Vedham’, and ‘Vikram’ in Tamil; and ‘Identity’ and ‘Manorathangal’ in Malayalam. These projects not only captured local viewership but also helped elevate ZEE5’s reputation as a hub for high-quality South Indian content.
Xavier’s expanded role will see him not only continuing to lead strategic marketing for South content but also overseeing the business operations for Tamil and Malayalam segments, a move that signals ZEE5’s growing focus on these key language markets. His dual mandate is expected to drive deeper regional engagement, stronger content performance, and sustained subscriber growth across southern states.
Before his stint at ZEE5, Xavier served as Associate Vice President – Marketing at ARHA Media & Broadcasting Pvt. Ltd (AHA), where he played a pivotal role in building the Telugu OTT brand. He began his professional journey as an analyst at Deloitte, later moving into media and marketing roles at YuppTV Inc. and Network18 Media & Investments Ltd., amassing a well-rounded portfolio in content, consumer engagement, and digital media strategy.
As OTT platforms increasingly invest in regional content to expand reach and loyalty, ZEE5’s elevation of Lloyd C. Xavier to this new leadership role represents a strategic alignment of business and brand — and a recognition of his consistent impact in navigating the vibrant South Indian content space.
