Singer-composer Vishal Mishra has unveiled ‘Kya Bataun Tujhe’, the opening track from his debut album ‘Pagalpan’, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into a world shaped by love, longing and heartbreak. The song marks the first chapter of the album and sets its emotional foundation, hinting at the deeply personal themes that will unfold through the project.
According to an ANI report, ‘Kya Bataun Tujhe’ serves as the emotional entry point into ‘Pagalpan’, capturing the vulnerability and unrest that Mishra has experienced over the past few years. The track introduces the album’s core mood, drawing listeners into a narrative that reflects pain, misunderstanding and unspoken emotions.
The music video features Vishal Mishra alongside actor Simrat Kaur and tells the story of a couple drifting apart due to unresolved differences. In a poignant visual metaphor, Mishra is seen singing in an opera house while his former lover sits in the audience with her current partner, underscoring the lingering ache of a love that once was. The narrative conveys Mishra’s affection for Simrat’s character and how that love becomes misunderstood over time.
‘Kya Bataun Tujhe’ is entirely crafted by Mishra, who has composed the music, sung the track and penned the lyrics himself. The song has been released under the T-Series banner, which also shared it across its official social media platforms.
Speaking about choosing ‘Kya Bataun Tujhe’ as the first release from ‘Pagalpan’, Vishal Mishra said the song emerged from a deeply restless phase of his life. He described the past two years as a period marked by loneliness, unease and quiet pain, adding that this track was the first emotion that needed to find a voice. He felt it was the right way to lead listeners into ‘Pagalpan’, as it reflects the emotional truth that defines the album.
Mishra also spoke about his vision for ‘Pagalpan’, which he said was conceptualised with Bhushan Kumar a couple of years ago as an international album rooted in India but shaped by global sounds, cultures and emotions. He expressed hope that the album would resonate with listeners navigating their own loneliness and healing journeys, and thanked the T-Series team for placing their trust in him.
With ‘Kya Bataun Tujhe’, Vishal Mishra opens a deeply personal musical chapter, setting the stage for ‘Pagalpan’ to unfold as a companion for listeners seeking comfort, connection and emotional honesty through music.
