The Prime Volleyball League (PVL) is gearing up for a blockbuster return this October with its much-anticipated fourth edition. The league has officially renewed its partnership with Sony Sports Network as its Official Broadcast Partner for the fourth consecutive season. For global fans and the digital-first generation, all matches will also be live-streamed via PVL’s official YouTube channel, offering unmatched access and interactivity.
According to a press release from PVL, the 2025 season will feature a dual-distribution strategy: televised live action across the Indian subcontinent through Sony Sports Network channels, and a simultaneous global digital stream through YouTube. This hybrid broadcast model is expected to significantly widen the league’s reach, tapping into both traditional sports viewers and a growing digital-savvy audience worldwide.
Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution & International Business and Head – Sports Business at Sony Pictures Networks India, emphasized the network’s continued commitment to nurturing Indian sporting leagues. “We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Prime Volleyball League. We are committed to the growth of homegrown leagues and our association with PVL is a testament to that. We are looking forward to a dynamic season this year with some of the brightest Volleyball stars taking the centre stage,” he said.
Meanwhile, Baseline Ventures’ Co-Founder & MD, Tuhin Mishra, expressed enthusiasm for the league’s expanding digital strategy. “This is a big moment for Indian volleyball. Sony Sports Network returning for a fourth straight season validates the league’s growing impact. And we’re excited to use our presence on YouTube as a game-changing step toward taking PVL to a truly global and younger audience. These partnerships will significantly expand the reach of PVL and bring our exciting brand of volleyball to a wider audience,” he noted.
Adding to the excitement, the PVL Season 4 Player Auction is slated to take place in Calicut on June 8 at 9.30 am, and will be streamed live on the league’s YouTube channel. Volleyball fans can tune in to witness the strategic bidding as teams assemble their star-studded lineups ahead of the season.
Season 4 is officially set to kick off on October 2, 2025, and promises a thrilling mix of high-energy matches, behind-the-scenes access, player stories, and innovative content formats. From match highlights to in-depth recaps and exclusive footage, PVL’s YouTube-first content strategy is designed to fuel fan engagement and extend the league’s reach across borders and devices — from living rooms to mobile screens.
With Sony’s continued support and YouTube’s global accessibility, PVL Season 4 is poised to set a new benchmark in Indian sports broadcasting and viewer experience.
