Devika Prabhu, Business Head for Kids and Infotainment at Disney & Star India, has decided to move on after a distinguished 16-year career, a source close to Economic Times had reported.
Prabhu’s exit is part of a larger executive reshuffle as Disney Star undergoes a strategic merger with Reliance Industries. The merger will consolidate media assets under the new entity, Jio Star, combining Viacom18 and Star India under Reliance’s ownership.
Prabhu joined Disney in 2008 as Associate Director of Programming and Acquisitions for Kids Channels and rapidly advanced, taking on roles that shaped the programming landscape for National Geographic and Disney Kids Network in India.
By 2020, she had become Vice President and Business Head for Kids, Youth, and Infotainment, overseeing creative strategy and channel growth. Prior to Disney, Prabhu spent over seven years at Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), contributing her expertise in strategic planning.
