Prime Video India has promoted Sahira Nair to the role of Head of Hindi Scripted Series. Previously serving as Head of Hindi Franchise Series, Nair has been instrumental in developing popular series like ‘Mirzapur’, ‘The Family Man’, ‘Jubilee’, ‘Bandish Bandits’, and ‘Dahaad’. Since joining Prime Video in 2019 as Senior Creative Development Executive, she has significantly contributed to the platform’s success in the Hindi scripted space.
In her LinkedIn post announcing the promotion, Sahira expressed her excitement for the new role, stating, “Narrating stories has always been my passion and Prime Video has helped me shape some of the most loved stories like ‘Mirzapur’, ‘The Family Man’, ‘Bandish Bandits’, ‘Jubilee’, and many more, that are watched by customers around the world.”
Nair hails from Delhi and has a diverse background in television and film production. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and has worked on globally recognized projects like ‘The Sopranos’, ‘Gossip Girl’, and ‘CSI: New York’. Nair has also served as an assistant director on films such as ‘The Darjeeling Limited’, ‘The Good Shepherd’, and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’.
Before joining Prime Video, Nair held key roles at Epic TV, Kaleidoscope Entertainment, and Ishara Films, where she contributed to various creative projects. As she steps into this new leadership role, Nair looks forward to creating more iconic franchises and expanding Prime Video’s footprint in Hindi storytelling.
