In anticipation of the 2024 General Elections, National Geographic India is set to premiere its latest feature, ‘India Votes: World’s Largest Election’, on May 23.

Hosted by actor Cyrus Sahukar, this 44-minute special will offer an exclusive glimpse into the intricate nuances and grandeur of the world’s largest electoral process, the channel said.

India, with nearly 97 crore registered voters, dwarfs other major democracies such as the USA, with 16.8 crore voters, and Russia, with 11.4 crore voters. The population of Uttar Pradesh alone matches the combined populations of Germany, the UK, and France, highlighting the scale of India’s elections.

‘India Votes: World’s Largest Election’ balances informativeness with a light-hearted approach, making it appealing to a younger audience. It decodes the general elections, honours the election foot soldiers, and showcases the technology and human spirit driving the electoral process.

The film delves into India’s democratic heart, featuring the new parliament and capturing the Chief Election Commissioner of India in action as he prepares for the elections.
