National Geographic India commemorated Earth Day by unveiling the third season of its ‘One for Change’ initiative, aimed at promoting positive environmental impact through individual actions. The initiative underscores the potential of collective small efforts in effecting significant change. This year, National Geographic India presents a series of five impactful narratives that spotlight the urgent need for change from the perspective of the animal kingdom.
The films serve to raise awareness about critical environmental issues, including deforestation, climate change, plastic pollution, water scarcity, and air pollution. Through emotionally compelling storytelling, viewers are encouraged to reflect on the challenges faced by wildlife due to human-induced activities and to take proactive steps towards adopting sustainable practices in their daily lives.
Gaurav Banerjee, Head of Content at Disney+ Hotstar & HSM Entertainment Network, Disney Star, expressed National Geographic’s commitment to leveraging its storytelling legacy to inspire audiences to care for the planet. He emphasized the importance of offering fresh perspectives and actionable insights to empower individuals in their journey towards conscious living and positive environmental stewardship.
Previous seasons of ‘One for Change’ highlighted inspiring stories of real-life changemakers, demonstrating the transformative impact of individual actions. In the current season, National Geographic India aims to mobilize people towards embracing sustainability through a series of 30 actionable tips shared across its social media platforms. These tips are designed to encourage individuals to make meaningful contributions to planet conservation and collectively build a greener future.
Through its ‘One for Change’ initiative, National Geographic India continues to champion environmental consciousness and inspire collective action towards safeguarding the planet for future generations.
