Sony LIV has unveiled the first look of ‘Scam 2010’, the upcoming instalment of its popular ‘Scam’ franchise, with actor Siddharth Bodke stepping into the role of Sahara Group founder Subrata Roy. The series is produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment and is set to premiere in January 2027.
The third season of the franchise will be directed by Hansal Mehta, who previously helmed ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’. The series became one of the most widely appreciated shows in the Indian streaming landscape, with IMDb recognising it among the decade’s top series for five consecutive years.
‘Scam 2010’ will explore the story of Subrata Roy, a prominent business figure whose journey and controversies made headlines across the country. With Bodke portraying Roy, the series aims to explore the man behind the larger-than-life public image.
Speaking about his role, Siddharth Bodke said, “Playing Subrata Roy in Scam 2010 has honestly been one of the most challenging and special experiences of my career. What interested me the most was understanding the man behind the image.
“We all know the larger-than-life personality, but I wanted to explore who he really was, what drove him, and why he made the choices he did. I’ve lived with this character for a long time, and the process has taught me so much, not just as an actor but also as a person.”
Bodke also spoke about working with director Hansal Mehta and the responsibility of carrying forward the legacy of the ‘Scam’ franchise.
“Working with Hansal sir has been an incredible learning experience and a lot of fun! The Scam series already has such a strong legacy, and being trusted to take that forward is a huge responsibility. I’m genuinely excited for people to finally see what we’ve created,” he said.
‘Scam 2010’ will premiere in January 2027, exclusively on Sony LIV.
