Before erasing all old Blue tick marks on April 20, Twitter added a feature on Friday that allows paid Blue subscribers to submit up to 10,000 characters.
Twitter now allows tweets of up to 10,000 characters in length, “with bold and italic text formatting,” according to the firm.
The microblogging network offered 4,000-character tweets for Blue subscribers in February.
“Sign up for Twitter Blue to gain access to these new features, and then apply to have Subscriptions enabled on your account to earn money directly from Twitter.” “In settings, select ‘Monetization.'” says Elon Musk’s company, IANS reported.
Musk stated on Thursday that ‘Subscriptions‘ are now available on the network, allowing people’s most engaged followers to earn money from Twitter in exchange for their efforts on the platform.
“We’re ramping up creator subscriptions like crazy!” “Perfect for long-form text, images, or video,” Musk said.
The move to launch 10,000-character tweets comes as Twitter battles the successful subscription email site Substack.
Substack reacted angrily to Twitter’s decision to disable the ability to like or retweet any postings containing the word “Substack,” calling the situation “very frustrating.”
Chris Best, the company’s CEO, responded to Musk with a post on Substack Notes, stating that Substack URLs were substantially throttled on Twitter.
The Twitter change has created a major issue for Substack writers, who use Musk’s platform to advertise their newsletters.
