Netflix has announced its upcoming four-part drama series ‘The Law of Beasts’, directed by Kasper Bajon. The series will premiere on November 18.
According to a Netflix press release, the story is set across two timelines, 1988 and 2014. In 1988, Poland was shaken by the murder of four boys. Major Anna Bersz, played by Agnieszka Grochowska, leads the investigation, while her friend and psychiatrist Agnieszka Grabska, played by Agnieszka Zulewska, is asked to assess the suspect.
A decision made during the case ends the friendship between the two women and changes their lives.
Twenty-five years later, the convicted man is about to be released. Anna and Agnieszka are forced to revisit the case and the difficult decision that separated them years earlier.
The series explores the conflict between law, justice and the need to protect society. It is inspired by the true events that led to the introduction of Poland’s ‘Beast Law’.
