An ISP in the Philippines improved its speed more than any other ISP for the month of February on the Netflix ISP Speed Index, a monthly update on which internet service providers provide the best prime time Netflix streaming experience.
The Philippines’ Royal Cable went up 0.8 Mbps from January’s results, rising to 3.2 Mbps. FPT Telecom in Vietnam went down 0.4 Mbps and Claro in Paraguay went down 0.2 Mbps falling to 2.6 and 3.4 Mbps, respectively, according to data shared by Netflix.
February also saw VTR in Chile split into VTR Cable and VTR Fiber. One ISP, Bezeq Domestic, was added in Israel.
Five countries were in the top performance tier for February. Hong Kong, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain and Switzerland all registered an average speed of 3.8 Mbps.
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime time Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions.
