Actress Maya Da Costa has officially joined the cast of the upcoming installment of the popular horror franchise ‘Paranormal Activity’. The film is currently in development and will mark a new chapter in the long-running supernatural horror series.
The movie will be directed by Ian Tuason, who is known for his work on indie horror projects. Along with Maya Da Costa, actors Chase Yi and Sonia Mena have also been confirmed in the main cast, making it a lineup of rising Hollywood talent.
According to an ANI report, this new film is expected to be another entry in the ‘Paranormal Activity’ universe, which first became a global hit for its unique found footage horror style. The franchise is known for focusing on supernatural disturbances captured through home video recordings, which helped it gain massive popularity with low budget filmmaking.
However, the makers have not yet revealed any details about the plot, characters, or story direction. Everything is currently being kept tightly under wraps to maintain suspense around the project.
The film is being produced by major horror powerhouses Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster in collaboration with Paramount Pictures. This partnership is expected to bring a fresh creative approach while still preserving the eerie tone that made the original films successful.
The ‘Paranormal Activity’ franchise first started in 2007 and quickly turned into one of the most profitable horror series of all time. With each new installment, the series has experimented with different timelines and perspectives while keeping its signature supernatural theme intact.
