Held in Los Angeles on June 27, the sold-out one-day fan event brought together creators, authors and cast members from several of Prime Video’s most anticipated YA series and films, according to an Amazon statement.

The platform also livestreamed the festival exclusively on TikTok, allowing audiences worldwide to watch the day’s announcements, talent appearances and exclusive reveals. Among the surprises was an appearance by Jennifer Lopez, who performed her new single ‘Everything’s Fine’ and her 2011 hit ‘On the Floor’ for fans of ‘Off Campus’.

Obsessed Fest was conceived as an immersive celebration of Prime Video’s YA storytelling, featuring panel discussions, fan interactions and live performances centred on titles including ‘The Love Hypothesis’‘Off Campus’‘Every Year After’‘Elle’‘The Devil’s Mouth’‘Maxton Hall’‘Your Fault: London’‘Drawn Together’‘The Last Sunrise’ and ‘Red, White & Royal Wedding’.

Prime Video used the event to unveil the first teaser of ‘The Love Hypothesis’, debut a new clip from ‘Drawn Together’, release first-look images from ‘The Last Sunrise’ ahead of its August 26 premiere and confirm the December release of the final season of ‘Maxton Hall’ with new yearbook images featuring Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung.

It also announced that Grammy Award-winning artist Zedd will guest star in the Spring Break episode of season two of ‘Overcompensating’. Additionally, ‘Every Year After’ was renewed for a second season, which will adapt Carley Fortune’s novel ‘One Golden Summer’ while continuing the story from the first season, with Amy B. Harris returning as showrunner and Fortune as executive producer.

Panel discussions offered insights into the upcoming productions and their appeal. ‘Off Campus’ actor Antonio Cipriano described the series as “an important show” that resonates because “people see themselves in the characters”, while ‘The Love Hypothesis’ star Tom Bateman said he “fell in love with this story” and hoped audiences would “walk away with it with the love I did”.

Lili Reinhart said she was drawn to the chemistry between Olive and Adam, calling them “so charming” and their dynamic “obviously fun to play”. Damian Hardung reflected on ‘Maxton Hall’, saying he was “very happy to have added another memorable” phase to his life through the series.

Authors and creators also highlighted the importance of faithful yet adaptable storytelling.

Mercedes Ron joked about making appearances across adaptations of her works, while Anna Todd, author and executive producer of ‘The Last Sunrise’, said authors should stay closely involved in adaptations while recognising that films must also work for audiences unfamiliar with the books.

‘The Devil’s Mouth’ stars Lana Condor and Gavin Casalegno spoke about the physical demands and natural beauty of the filming locations, while ‘Elle’ actor Lexi Minetree and ‘Every Year After’ star Matt Cornett shared how preparing for their roles deepened their connection with the source material.
