Lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir spoke about the emotional story behind his popular song ‘Teri Mitti’ from the film ‘Kesari’ in the upcoming episode of ‘Tum Ho Naa Ghar Ki Superstar’.
According to a SET press release, during his conversation with host Rajeev Khandelwal, Manoj said he wrote the song by imagining the thoughts of an Indian soldier who is sacrificing his life for the country.
He said he thought about a soldier’s final moments after being shot in battle. Instead of feeling regret about joining the Army or worrying about money, Manoj believed that a true soldier would feel proud that he was giving his life for the nation. This powerful thought became the inspiration for ‘Teri Mitti’.
Manoj also shared that he has met many families of soldiers and has seen the pride they carry despite their loss. He said that inspired him to write a song that reflects the courage, sacrifice and love soldiers have for their country.
Rajeev Khandelwal praised the song and said it still gives him goosebumps every time he hears it, especially the lines written for a soldier’s mother. During the show, Manoj also sang a few lines from the song, making the moment even more emotional.
Rajeev also appreciated Manoj’s writing style, saying his lyrics are simple, honest and easy to understand, yet they carry deep emotions that connect with people. The heartfelt conversation will be seen in the upcoming episode of ‘Tum Ho Naa Ghar Ki Superstar’, which airs every Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and streams on Sony LIV.
