ZEE5 Global has announced the world digital premiere of the Telugu comedy-drama ‘Hey Balwanth’, set to stream from March 31, 2026. The film marks the directorial debut of Gopi Atchara, who has also co-written the project.
The film is positioned as a heartfelt narrative blending humour with emotional depth, set against the backdrop of Guntur. Produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the banner Trishul Visionary Studios, the film stars Suhas, Shivani Nagaram and Naresh in key roles.
‘Hey Balwanth’ follows the story of Krishna, played by Suhas, a young man determined to carry forward his father’s legacy. However, his life takes a turn when he uncovers a truth he was never prepared to face. As Krishna falls in love with Mithra, an idealistic NGO founder, he finds himself caught between his personal values and the reality of his father Rao Balwanth’s business—a lodge entangled in illegal activities.
The narrative explores the tension between love, morality and familial duty, while also delving into the complexities of a father–son relationship tested by truth and difficult choices. Balancing humour with emotional conflict, the film attempts to present a relatable story of ambition and the burden of legacy.
Speaking about the film, Suhas described ‘Hey Balwanth’ as a project close to his heart, highlighting its focus on ambition, family and moral dilemmas that are often left unspoken. He noted that the film’s mix of humour and honesty makes Krishna’s journey relatable, adding that its release on ZEE5 Global would help it reach a wider audience.
Veteran actor Naresh подчеркed the depth of the father–son dynamic in the story, stating that his role as Rao Balwanth allowed him to portray a character layered with both complexity and warmth. He also expressed confidence in the platform’s ability to support meaningful Telugu storytelling.
With its blend of humour, emotion and social themes, ‘Hey Balwanth’ aims to connect with audiences through a grounded and engaging narrative. The film will be available for streaming globally on ZEE5 Global starting March 31.
