The makers of the upcoming Telugu action-drama ‘Lenin’, starring Akhil Akkineni, have announced a revised release date, with the film now scheduled to hit theatres on June 26, 2026. The announcement comes as part of a strategic move to position the film for a clearer box office window.
According to a report by PTI, the film was earlier slated for release on May 1 but has been pushed ahead to avoid a clash with another major Telugu release. The decision reflects the growing trend of producers carefully timing releases to maximise audience reach and avoid direct competition.
Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, ‘Lenin’ is backed by Annapurna Studios and Sithara Entertainments. The film also features Bhagyashri Borse in a key role alongside Akhil Akkineni, adding to the anticipation around the project.
The shift in release date is largely attributed to the proximity of Ram Charan’s upcoming film ‘Peddi’, which is scheduled to release on April 30. With both films targeting a similar audience base, the makers of ‘Lenin’ opted to move their release to ensure a more favourable theatrical run.
While not much has been revealed about the storyline, ‘Lenin’ is being positioned as a high-energy action drama, with Akhil Akkineni expected to take on a dynamic role. The collaboration between established production houses and a fresh directorial voice has further heightened expectations among fans.
With its new release date locked in, ‘Lenin’ is now set for a solo run in late June, aiming to capture audience attention without the pressure of a box office clash.
