Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEE) shareholders have approved the reappointment of five directors at the company’s 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on Thursday. The decision was approved by the required majority.
According to a Zee News report today, the five directors include Deepu Bansal, Uttam Prakash Agarwal, P.V. Ramana Murthy and Shishir Babubhai Desai, who have been reappointed as Independent Directors. Saurav Adhikari has been reappointed as a Non-Executive Director.
The directors bring experience in areas such as finance, technology, risk management, governance, operations, strategy and business transformation.
ZEE said the Board has been working on improving internal processes, strengthening governance and providing strategic guidance to the management. The company also said the reappointments will help maintain continuity and institutional experience on the Board.
ZEE Chairman R. Gopalan thanked shareholders for their continued support. He said the Board members bring experience across different areas and will continue to work with the management on the company’s growth plans and governance.
The company also noted that shareholders had approved an additional growth capital infusion at an Extraordinary General Meeting held in July 2026. ZEE said the move is aimed at supporting future opportunities and strengthening the company’s financial foundation.
Meanwhile, according to a Storyboard18.com report today, Zee Entertainment Enterprises is planning a wider growth strategy covering digital, linear television, sports, movies and new content formats. CEO Punit Goenka said Zee5 became profitable during the fiscal year, while the company’s linear television network share went beyond 18 percent.
Addressing the company’s 44th Annual General Meeting, Goenka said ZEE has been working on improving its content strategy, making the digital business more profitable and creating stronger ways to monetise its content as the media and entertainment industry continues to change.
Goenka said Zee5’s focus on language-based content, along with a strong user experience, helped the streaming platform become profitable during the year. He described the achievement as an important milestone for the company’s digital business.
For its linear television business, Goenka said the new content strategy introduced across the channels helped increase viewership and took ZEE’s network share to more than 18 percent.
