For gamers looking for a convenient way to play their favourite Xbox titles, a collaboration between Xbox and Amazon has them covered. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can access and play hundreds of cloud-enabled games directly through the Xbox app on select Fire TV devices in India now.
This integration, according to an Amazon statement yesterday, brings the vast Xbox library to a player’s TV with just a compatible Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube and Bluetooth-enabled controller, making gaming more available. From newer titles like ‘Hollow Knight: Silksong’ to local favourites like ‘Raji: An Ancient Epic’, one can experience console-quality gaming through cloud gaming.
How to set up the Xbox app on your Fire TV? Getting started is simple. All one needs is a Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Generation), Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, or a Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen). These streaming media players start at Rs. 6,499, making cloud gaming more available than ever before.
Next, download the Xbox app on the Fire TV device via the Amazon Appstore. Once installed, open the app and one would be prompted to sign in with one’s Microsoft account. If one is already an Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate subscriber, one will have instant access to stream and play any of the hundreds of titles in the Game Pass library or select cloud playable games that can be bought or owned.
Not a member yet? A person can sign up for Xbox Game Pass through the app for a monthly subscription starting at Rs. 499.
Then, connect a compatible Bluetooth controller (to be purchased separately from the Fire TV device) and one is ready to start gaming. The Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, DualSense or DualShock 4 controllers all work seamlessly.
Why should you choose to play with Xbox Game Pass on Fire TV? One of the biggest benefits of cloud gaming is the ability to play premium games without needing a console. The Fire TV Stick may be compact, but it can stream and run graphically intense Xbox games like ‘Ninja Gaiden 4’.
This portability also means one can easily move cloud gaming setup from the living room TV to a different room or even take it on the road.
