In a bid to rival Google-owned YouTube, Musk’s X social media platform is gearing up to introduce a dedicated TV app for users to upload high-quality videos, as announced by CEO Linda Yaccarino.
Yaccarino emphasized the platform’s transition from the small screen to the big screen, heralding the forthcoming X TV App as a game-changer in the realm of entertainment. Set to provide users with a high-quality, immersive viewing experience on larger screens, the app aims to become a go-to companion for entertainment aficionados, IANS reported.
The X TV App promises a range of features including a trending video algorithm, AI-powered topics, cross-device compatibility, enhanced video search, effortless casting, and widespread availability across most smart TVs.
The trending video algorithm is poised to deliver tailored popular content, keeping users updated with the latest trends and viral videos. Additionally, AI-powered topics will categorize videos by subject, enhancing the browsing experience for viewers.
Commenting on the announcement, a user suggested the inclusion of a video playlist/index for creators to curate their own playlists, separating original content from shorter news clips. This feature would allow viewers to access curated content more efficiently, catering to the diverse range of videos posted by users.
Yaccarino encouraged users to share their ideas, underscoring the platform’s commitment to community-driven development. With the X TV App on the horizon, Musk’s X platform is poised to revolutionize the landscape of video content consumption, offering users a compelling alternative to traditional video-sharing platforms.
