Vodafone-Idea (Vi) is making significant strides into the gaming space, seeking to expand its digital entertainment offerings through a comprehensive approach aimed at Indian gamers.
This month, Vi launched its first grassroots eSports tournament, called ‘Vi Game to Fame’, underscoring the company’s commitment to immersive digital experiences and tapping into the rapidly growing mobile gaming industry.
According to VI, the company’s mobile gaming platform, offers a wide range of premium and free games across several categories, including Cloud Gaming, Casual Gaming, eSports, AAA Games, and Multi-Player Games, accessible via the Vi App.
Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer at Vi, said the company’s ongoing network enhancements have significantly boosted 4G data speeds, democratizing access to high-quality mobile gaming. The availability of affordable data and advanced mobile devices with enhanced RAM/ROM configurations has made rich gaming experiences more accessible to the masses.
Vi Games’ user base has expanded significantly, with non-metro regions driving much of the growth. States such as Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and West Bengal contribute around 65 percent of the platform’s total consumption.
