Actor Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is set to release in theatres on June 5, reclaiming its original slot after the postponement of Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. The development brings clarity to a release calendar that has seen multiple shifts in recent weeks.
According to a PTI report, the family entertainer had undergone several changes in its release timeline. Initially slated for June 5, the film was pushed to June 12 to avoid a box-office clash with Toxic, before being further advanced to May 22. However, with ‘Toxic’ no longer releasing on its earlier date of June 4, the makers of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ have now decided to return to their original release window.
The move reflects how closely film release strategies are tied to competition at the box office, especially when big-ticket projects are involved. With ‘Toxic’ stepping out of the early June slot, the June 5 date has once again opened up, allowing the Varun Dhawan-led film to position itself for a clear theatrical run.
‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is expected to be a family entertainer, and its return to the June 5 date could help it tap into a wider audience without direct competition from another major release. The reshuffle also highlights the fluid nature of release planning in the industry, where dates are often adjusted to maximise reach and revenue potential.
With the new date now locked, the film is gearing up for its theatrical debut, aiming to make the most of a relatively uncluttered box office window.
