The makers of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, starring Varun Dhawan, have postponed the release of the film by a week, shifting its theatrical debut from June 5 to June 12.
The decision, according to the makers, reflects a spirit of solidarity within the film industry and the belief that filmmakers should support each other rather than compete unnecessarily. The announcement comes amid a reshuffle in release schedules following the delay of ‘Toxic’, the upcoming film of Kannada superstar Yash.
The makers said the move follows the postponement of ‘Toxic’ to June 4, a change reportedly triggered by escalating tensions in West Asia that affected the film’s original release planning. In response, the team behind ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ chose to shift their own release date to avoid a box-office clash and maintain a supportive industry environment.
Directed by veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, the film marks another collaboration between the director and his son Varun Dhawan, a pairing known for delivering several successful commercial entertainers over the years. The project also features actors Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in key roles.
With its new release date set for June 12, ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ will now arrive in cinemas a week later than originally planned, giving the film a clearer window at the box office while maintaining the industry’s collaborative approach to scheduling major releases.
