Truecaller has announced two major subscription milestones, underlining its steady growth in the premium mobile identity space. As of May 17, 2025, the company has surpassed three million paying users globally, with iOS subscribers alone crossing the one million mark by May 27.
This marks a significant jump from the previous quarter. According to company data, Truecaller reported 2.86 million total subscribers as of March 31, 2025 of which 0.86 million were iOS users. In comparison, the subscriber base stood at 2.72 million with 0.82 million iOS subscribers at the end of December 2024. The growth rate for iOS subscriptions alone is approximately 16 percent since March, reflecting rising traction on the platform, The Business Standard reported.
The surge in user adoption is attributed to Truecaller’s latest advancements on iOS, particularly the integration of AI-powered features and a refined premium experience that has elevated the platform beyond its original utility-based identity. From real-time caller ID enhancements to smart call management, the app now positions itself as a comprehensive communication identity layer.
Truecaller CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala expressed his satisfaction with the continued momentum in premium uptake. “I am pleased to see that more and more users see the value of becoming premium users. In the last couple of years, we have improved and simplified our premium offering significantly,” he said.
Truecaller’s evolution reflects broader trends in the communication technology sector, where identity verification, privacy protection, and seamless user experience are becoming critical differentiators. The company’s growing paid subscriber base suggests that users are increasingly willing to invest in these capabilities, especially as AI reshapes the digital calling and messaging landscape.
With India remaining a dominant market for the app and global expansion underway, Truecaller appears poised for further subscriber gains — especially as it continues to double down on platform-specific innovation and cross-platform enhancements.
