The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the deadline for submissions on two consultations, including the ‘Pre-Consultation Paper on Inputs for Formulation of National Broadcasting Policy’.
TRAI had released a pre-consultation paper on inputs for formulation of a National Broadcasting Policy on September 21, 2023. The last date of receiving comments from the stakeholders on the issues raised in the pre consultation paper was initially fixed as October 10.
“Due to requests received from stakeholders for extension of time for submission of comments, the last dates for receiving written comments were extended up to 31st October 2023,” the regulator said yesterday, adding on further requests from the industry, the new deadline is now November 7.

Considering industry associations sought an extension for submissions as the paper coversimportant issues pertaining to the policy challenges and right framework for faster adoption and effective utilisation of new technologies requiring more research, the deadline for submissions has been extended to November 27.
