Kapil Sharma is set to return to Netflix with the fifth season of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, with Ajay Devgn and the cast of ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ featuring in the opening episode. The new season will premiere on September 26 at 8 pm, with fresh episodes streaming every Saturday.

Netflix has confirmed the return of the show after a six-month break, with Sharma once again joined by Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu. The new season will continue the show’s festive comedy format, bringing together celebrity guests, conversations and comic performances, IANS reported.

The opening episode will feature Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Jaideep Ahlawat and director Abhishek Pathak, who will appear on the show ahead of the theatrical release of ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’. The episode will combine conversations around the upcoming film with Kapil Sharma and his comedy ensemble’s trademark banter.

Promotional material has already teased several comic moments from the episode. Jaideep Ahlawat is set to join Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda’s Sona and Mona 2.0 characters, while Sunil Grover is expected to add to the episode with his impersonation of Ajay Devgn.

The fifth season has been positioned by Netflix as part of its festive-season programming under the theme ‘Hasi Ka Tyo-ha-ha-har’. According to Netflix, the returning season will feature Kapil Sharma and his familiar comedy team alongside a new line-up of celebrity guests and unexpected moments.

Ajay Devgn’s appearance comes ahead of the release of ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’, where he reprises his role as Vijay Salgaonkar. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat and is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 2, 2026.
