The much-anticipated trailer for ‘The Buckingham Murders’, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, has been released, stirring excitement among fans. The mystery thriller, set to premiere in theatres on September 13, also features Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar and Keith Allen.
The trailer opens with Kapoor’s character deeply engrossed in an investigation, interrogating suspects related to the mysterious murder of a child. Her portrayal as a determined detective diving into a complex case is intense and compelling, hinting at a powerful performance.
Sharing the trailer on social media, Kareena expressed her enthusiasm, urging fans to mark their calendars for the film’s release on September 13, IANS reported.
Ahead of the trailer launch, Kareena had posted several images from the film, building anticipation. In a conversation during Netflix’s ‘The Actors’ Roundtable 2023’, she revealed that her character is a grieving mother who becomes a detective after a tragic incident where her child is shot in the opening scene. This loss pushes her to leave her hometown and take on a challenging case in a new city.
Kareena shared that this role is particularly special to her, marking her debut as a detective—a genre she is passionate about. She described the character as emotionally taxing, grappling with intense grief, yet found joy in the challenge. She even requested the director to extend the story into a four-part series, reflecting her deep connection to the role, which she described as a career-defining moment.
‘The Buckingham Murders’ garnered praise following its global premiere at the BFI London Film Festival 2023 and was later showcased at the 2023 Mumbai Film Festival.
