The makers of ‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’ have unveiled the film’s first trailer, offering fans a fresh look at the next chapter of the popular animated franchise. This time, the spotlight shifts from Red’s battle against enemies to an entirely different challenge — parenthood. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on December 23, 2026.
The trailer reveals a major family twist for the beloved character Red, voiced by Jason Sudeikis. Once known for his short temper and heroic adventures, Red is now shown navigating life as a father alongside Silver. The story introduces their three children, adding a new emotional layer to the franchise while retaining its trademark humour and action.
According to IANS report, Red and Silver’s family includes teenage son Glider, voiced by Walker Scobell, teenage daughter June, voiced by Emma Myers, and their youngest child, baby hatchling Olly, voiced by Psalm West. The trailer showcases Red attempting to balance parenting responsibilities while dealing with the chaos created by his children.
The new film appears to take a more family-oriented approach compared to its predecessors. While earlier installments focused primarily on Red’s efforts to protect Bird Island and confront rival pigs, the third outing explores the challenges of raising children. Scenes in the trailer show Red trying to be a supportive and involved father, often with humorous and embarrassing results.
Despite the emphasis on family life, the trailer hints that a larger adventure still awaits. As Red struggles to manage parenthood, a new threat emerges, forcing the birds to once again unite and protect their world. Familiar characters Chuck and Bomb return to assist Red, bringing back the comedy and camaraderie that fans have come to expect from the franchise.
The voice cast also includes returning stars Josh Gad as Chuck, Danny McBride as Bomb and Rachel Bloom as Silver. New additions include Keke Palmer, Lily James, Tim Robinson, Marcello Hernández, Anna Cathcart, Nikki Glaser and several other notable names.
With its blend of humour, heart and adventure, ‘The Angry Birds Movie 3’ promises to introduce audiences to a more mature Red while expanding the franchise’s universe through a story centred on family, growth and responsibility. The trailer suggests that saving the world may no longer be Red’s toughest mission — raising a family could prove to be an even bigger challenge.
