In response to questions about streaming trends, Sushant Sreeram highlighted the phenomenal growth of streaming in India, surpassing linear TV viewership. He noted that accessibility, affordability, and language preferences varied among customers, prompting Prime Video’s commitment to “AND” solutions, catering to diverse needs. Sreeram celebrated the success of Prime Video’s entertainment hub, Channel proposition, Movie Rentals service, and Mini TV, showcasing the platform’s adaptability to evolving viewer demands, the platform said in a press statement.
Addressing the query on content costs, Sreeram stressed Amazon and Prime Video‘s long-term investment perspective. He emphasized the goal of building a lasting cinematic storytelling category and creating a comprehensive ecosystem for creators. Sreeram expressed excitement about collaborations, citing the close to 100 projects in production and development as evidence of the growing appetite for compelling narratives in India.
During the session’s conclusion, when asked about their mantra for 2024, Sushant Sreeram succinctly stated, “For us, it’s still Day 1!” This reiterated Amazon’s culture and operating model, embodying continuous curiosity, agility, and experimentation, all centered around prioritizing customer satisfaction.
