Sunny Hinduja has spoken about his emotional connection with the character of Vimal Khanna in Vimal Khanna, the latest survival thriller streaming on Amazon MX Player. Inspired by the literary universe created by celebrated writer Surendra Mohan Pathak, the series has been drawing attention for bringing one of Hindi literature’s popular characters to the digital screen.
According to a press release, Sunny Hinduja reflected on how the emotional depth of the character helped him connect personally with the role during filming. The actor said the scenes revolving around Vimal’s family, especially moments involving the loss of his brother and mother, felt particularly heavy and emotionally close to him.
Speaking about the role, Sunny shared that Vimal’s resilience and integrity stood out the most for him. He added that despite the difficult situations the character faces, he continues to stand strong and remain true to himself. The actor also mentioned that working alongside his close friend Krishna Singh Bisht made several moments during the shoot feel more natural and personal.
Sunny Hinduja also expressed admiration for Surendra Mohan Pathak and the impact of his storytelling. While he could not meet the veteran author personally due to time constraints, the actor revealed that producer Piyush Gupta shared insights about Pathak’s creative vision and writing style during the making of the show.
Talking about the author’s popularity, Sunny said the love audiences across the country have for Surendra Mohan Pathak is “mind-blowing” and described him as a truly cult writer. He further added that the characters and worlds created by Pathak were far ahead of their time and continue to remain relevant even today.
The series also stars Isha Talwar and Tara Alisha Berry in important roles. Positioned as a gripping survival thriller, the show blends emotional drama with suspense and action-driven storytelling.
