Stephen King’s acclaimed dystopian sci-fi thriller ‘The Long Walk’ is set to make its digital debut in India, becoming available for rent from December 8, 2025. The film is priced at Rs 149 and can be rented on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and YouTube.
According to a press note issued by the makers, ‘The Long Walk’ brings to screen one of King’s most unsettling stories, set in a future where 100 teenage boys are forced to participate in an annual endurance contest known as “The Long Walk”. The rules are brutally simple: the boys must keep walking at a speed of more than three miles per hour, and anyone who receives three warnings within an hour is shot. The last boy left walking is promised anything he wants for the rest of his life.
As the competition unfolds, the film explores how deep bonds and friendships form among the participants, even as each survivor remains a threat to the others. The emotional weight of these relationships, combined with the constant presence of fear and uncertainty, drives the narrative and highlights the psychological cost of the competition.
Written by Stephen King, the film is directed by Francis Lawrence, best known for helming The Hunger Games franchise. ‘The Long Walk’ stars Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson and Mark Hamill in pivotal roles, bringing intensity and emotional depth to the story.
The film was released in Indian cinemas on September 12, 2025, where it received strong responses from both critics and audiences, with many praising its gripping storytelling and performances.
‘The Long Walk’ is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and YouTube through the rental option.
