Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has secured the exclusive television broadcast rights for the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025–26 season, further strengthening its sports portfolio. The linear television rights have been sublicensed to SPNI by FanCode, which holds the media rights for the league, with primary telecast scheduled on Sony Sports Ten 2.
According to a press release, SPNI will hold exclusive television broadcast rights for the ISL 2025–26 season in India, along with non-exclusive rights in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The partnership aims to expand the reach of Indian football by combining wide television coverage with digital distribution.
The ISL 2025–26 season is set to kick off on 14 February 2026 and will feature 91 matches under a new single-leg round robin format. The opening match will see defending champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant take on Kerala Blasters, marking the start of what is expected to be a competitive season.
With this acquisition, SPNI continues to strengthen its football offerings, which already include major international tournaments and domestic competitions. The addition of the Indian Super League further reinforces the network’s positioning as a key destination for football viewership in India, bringing domestic football action to a wider audience.
Commenting on the development, M. Satyanarayan, Deputy Secretary General of All India Football Federation, said the partnership reflects the federation’s commitment to expanding the footprint of the ISL. He noted that while FanCode continues to drive digital innovation, Sony Pictures Networks’ television reach will help ensure that fans across age groups can access the league conveniently.
Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head, Sports and International at Sony Pictures Networks India, described the development as a moment of pride for the network. He highlighted that nearly 100 million viewers watched football on SPNI’s sports channels in 2025, indicating the growing popularity of the sport in the country. He added that the partnership will bring the excitement of homegrown football talent and intense rivalries to millions of viewers while supporting the growth of the football ecosystem in India.
Yannick Colaco, co-founder of FanCode, also expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating that the partnership is aimed at ensuring the widest possible distribution for the league. By combining Sony Pictures Networks’ television expertise with FanCode’s digital-first approach, he said, the initiative will create a strong multi-platform ecosystem for fans to follow the action.
Starting 14 February 2026, viewers can watch all matches of the Indian Super League 2025–26 season live on Sony Sports Ten 2 in both SD and HD formats.
