The India Women’s Tour of England 2026 is set to begin on May 28, promising high-intensity cricket, fierce competition, and a historic chapter for women’s cricket. More than just another bilateral series, the tour carries major significance as both teams gear up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 later this year.

The multi-format tour will feature a three-match T20I series followed by a one-off Test at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London — marking the first time the Indian women’s team will play a Test match at the historic ‘Home of Cricket.’

The T20I leg of the tour will act as a crucial preparation phase ahead of the global tournament. The opening match will be played on May 28 in Chelmsford at 11 pm IST, followed by the second T20I in Bristol on May 30 at 7 pm IST. The third and final T20I is scheduled for June 2 in Taunton at 11 pm IST.

The spotlight will then shift to Lord’s, where India and England will clash in a one-off Test match from July 10 to 13. The match is expected to be a landmark moment for women’s cricket, with Indian fans hoping for a memorable performance at a venue that still carries memories of the heartbreaking 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup final defeat.

India enters the series with confidence after winning a T20I series 3-2 on English soil last year. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will once again lead the side, while Smriti Mandhana remains central to India’s batting strength. All-rounder Deepti Sharma, who was named Player of the Tournament at the 2025 ODI World Cup, will also be a key figure for the visitors.

England, meanwhile, will miss regular captain Nat Sciver-Brunt during the T20I series due to a minor calf injury. Off-spinner Charlie Dean will lead the side in her absence, supported by experienced names like Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell. Explosive batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge is expected to join the squad for the second and third T20Is.

Adding further intrigue to the contest is England head coach Charlotte Edwards, who famously led England to Women’s T20 World Cup glory in 2009. Her experience and understanding of home conditions are expected to play a crucial role in England’s campaign.

The rivalry between India and England has evolved into one of the most competitive contests in modern women’s cricket. With India chasing its maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title and England aiming to dominate at home once again, the upcoming series is expected to deliver high drama and quality cricket.

Fans in India can catch all the matches live on Sony Sports Ten 1 SD & HD, Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi SD & HD, and Sony Sports Ten 4 SD & HD. Commentary will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. The series will also be streamed live on Sony LIV.
